چکیده

Abstract Functional traits can be used to identify various ecosystem processes that are influenced by natural and anthropogenic factors. We tested the hypothesis species composition functional feeding of zooplankton environmental gradients, such as depth, trophic status, ion content. This was in three lignite strip mine lakes Central Poland. Two shallow, polymictic were reclaimed (1994 2008), third deep, stratified lake has been during flooding process, since 2011. Samples collected monthly 2016 2017. The responses communities variables through redundancy analyses. Both eutrophy oligotrophy contributed taxonomic heterogeneity homogeneity zooplankton. In eutrophic condition small microphagous rotifers small-sized crustaceans dominated, while high concentrations favored dominance large stationary/suspended feeders. turn, depth gradient a newly emerging, resulted Our results complement existing knowledge about post-industrial areas, also provide new information on mechanisms formation functioning pit ecosystems.

Temporal and Spatial Dynamics of Archaeal Communities in Two Freshwater Lakes at Different Trophic Status

In either eutrophic Dianchi Lake or mesotrophic Erhai Lake, the abundance, diversity, and structure of archaeaplankton communities in spring were different from those in summer. In summer, archaeaplankton abundance generally decreased in Dianchi Lake but increased in Erhai Lake, while archaeaplankton diversity increased in both lakes. These two lakes had distinct archaeaplankton community struc...

Urea and ureolytic activity in lakes of different trophic status.

Urea and uraease (U-ase) activity were determined in water samples taken from the surface layers of 17 lakes of different trophic status. Urea concentrations were inversely correlated with the trophic status of the studied lakes and varied from below the detection limit to 25 micromol l(-1). Maximal potential ureolytic activity (V(max)) ranged from 0.2 to 7.0 micromol l(-1) h(-1). The highest u...

the trophic state of patagonian argentinean lakes and its relationship with depth distribution in sediment phosphorus

the parameters used to determine the trophic state of a water body are: total phosphorus (tp),transparency (secchi disk depth) and chlorophyll a. however, these parameters show strong seasonalfluctuations which may hinder the estimation of trophic state. some authors have proposed that sediments be used as an additional tool to evaluate the trophic state of a water body. the aim of this study w...

The influence of trophic status and large-scale climatic change on the structure of fish communities in Perialpine lakes.

1. A recurrent question in ecology is the influence of environmental factors, particularly nutrients and climatic variables, on community structure and functioning, and their interaction with internal community processes (e.g. competition). 2. Perialpine lakes have been subject to two main kinds of human-induced changes over the last 50 years: eutrophication-reoligotrophication, represented by ...
